relating to the licensing and regulation of certain residential | ||
educational child-care facilities serving victims of human | ||
trafficking. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 42.041, Human Resources Code, is amended | ||
by adding Subsection (h) to read as follows: | ||
(h) Notwithstanding Subsection (b)(7), an educational | ||
facility that is accredited by an accreditation body that is a | ||
member of the Texas Private School Accreditation Commission and | ||
operates primarily for educational purposes for prekindergarten | ||
and above shall comply with the licensing requirements of | ||
Subsection (a) and all department rules and minimum standards | ||
applicable to general residential operations that provide services | ||
to persons who are victims of human trafficking under Section | ||
20A.02, Penal Code, if at any point during the academic year more | ||
than 50 percent of the children at the facility are victims of human | ||
trafficking. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
