relating to the elevation of high-speed rail tracks in certain | ||
counties. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 112, Transportation Code, | ||
is amended by adding Section 112.104 to read as follows: | ||
Sec. 112.104. ELEVATED HIGH-SPEED RAIL TRACKS IN CERTAIN | ||
COUNTIES. (a) In this section, "high-speed rail" means intercity | ||
passenger rail reasonably expected to reach speeds of at least 120 | ||
miles per hour. | ||
(b) High-speed rail tracks located in a county with a | ||
population of more than one million or a county adjacent to a county | ||
with a population of more than one million must be elevated on | ||
pylons to 40 feet or more above the ground. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
