AN ACT
  relating to the reporting of certain information to the director of
  the bureau of vital statistics.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 191.024(a), Health and Safety Code, is
  amended to read as follows:
         (a)  On the state registrar's demand, a person, including a
  local registrar, physician, midwife, or funeral director, who has
  information relating to a birth, death, or fetal death shall supply
  the information to the state registrar in person, by mail, or
  through the local registrar. The person shall supply the
  information on a form provided by the department or on the original
  certificate.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
  a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
  provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this
  Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
  Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
