| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 814.105, Government Code, is amended by | ||
| adding Subsection (e) to read as follows: | ||
| (e) Notwithstanding any other law, the service retirement | ||
| annuity for service credited in the employee class of membership | ||
| for a member who was not a member on the date hired, was hired on or | ||
| after September 1, 2013, and is eligible to retire may not exceed | ||
| the gross salary of a member of the United States armed forces on | ||
| active duty at the pay grade of O-10 as defined by 37 U.S.C. Section | ||
| 201(a). | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. | ||
