BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 56.310, Education Code, is amended by | ||
adding Subsection (d) to read as follows: | ||
(d) An eligible institution may solicit and accept gifts, | ||
grants, and donations from any public or private source for the | ||
purpose of awarding a TEXAS grant under this subchapter to a person | ||
enrolled in the institution. The institution may develop and | ||
implement an appropriate process for the naming and sponsoring of | ||
an individual grant awarded under this subchapter to a person | ||
enrolled in the institution or any gift, grant, or donation | ||
received by the institution under this subsection. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
