| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 387.003, Local Government Code, is | ||
| amended by adding Subsection (a-2) to read as follows: | ||
| (a-2) A district may perform the functions authorized by | ||
| Subsection (a-1) outside the district for the benefit of the | ||
| district in a location that is not more than two miles from the | ||
| district in this state. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. | ||
