A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to the provision of materials for parent-taught driver
  education courses.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 1001.112, Education Code, is amended by
  adding Subsections (b-1) and (e) to read as follows:
         (b-1)  The department shall develop and make available on the
  department's Internet website course materials that would allow a
  person to conduct a course under this section.
         (e)  The department may not charge a fee for:
               (1)  access to or use of course materials provided
  under Subsection (b-1); or
               (2)  the submission of proof of completion of the
  course or passage of an examination under Subsection (c).
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
