The bill would amend the Business & Commerce Code to limit the use of an individual's genetic data by certain genetic testing companies and authorizes the OAG or district attorneys to sue to recover a civil penalty for violations of the chapter.
According to the Office of Court Administration and Office of the Attorney General, any additional work resulting from the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within current resources.
