FROM:
Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB1488 by Rose (Relating to sickle cell disease health care improvement and the sickle cell task force.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require collaboration between the Health and Human Services Commission and the Sickle Cell Task Force. The bill would also require sickle cell disease education in graduate medical schools and public schools. It is assumed that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed using existing resources.

Local Government Impact

It is assumed that some schools may need to disseminate information or update health plans regarding sickle cell disease. However, no significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
