Summary

As introduced, requires notice to be sent to a parent after a child misses three days without excuse, which need not be consecutive; requires a student to be reported to juvenile court as truant, if the student has missed six days, which need not be consecutive, without excuse; allows a student four excused absences a semester after which a written note explaining an absence is required for the student to obtain an excused absence. - Amends TCA Title 37; Title 49, Chapter 1; Title 49, Chapter 2; Title 49, Chapter 5 and Title 49, Chapter 6.
