Summary

Amend Section 63-9-30(10) Of The 1976 Code, Relating To Definitions Under The South Carolina Adoption Act, To Provide That A "child With Challenging Adoption Circumstances" Or "children With Challenging Adoption Circumstances" Means Children Who Are Members Of A Sibling Group, Children Aged Six Or Older, Or Children With Physical, Mental, Or Emotional Disabilities; To Amend Section 63-9-60(b)(1)(a), Section 63-9-750(a), Section 63-9-1370(b), Section 63-9-1750(1), And Section 63-9-2030(a) And (d) Of The 1976 Code, All Relating To Certain Provisions Under The South Carolina Adoption Act, To Make Conforming Changes; To Amend Section 12-6-1140(7) Of The 1976 Code, Relating To Deductions From Individual Taxable Income For Certain Adopted Children, To Make Conforming Changes; And To Provide That A Child Who Formerly Qualified As A Special Needs Child And Received Certain Adoption Benefits Pursuant To This Status Shall Continue To Receive Those Benefits.
