Summary

Revise The Chapter In Its Entirety, To Abolish The State Board Of Education And To Transfer Its Functions, Powers, Duties, Responsibilities, Authority, Employees, Authorized Appropriations, And Assets And Liabilities, Among Other Things, To The Education Oversight Committee, To Delete Obsolete References, And To Make Conforming Changes, To Direct The Code Commissioner To Make Conforming Changes And To Report These Changes To The General Assembly Before July 1, 2016; To Repeal Chapter 5, Title 59 Relating To The State Board Of Education; And To Provide That The Provisions Of This Act Take Effect Upon Approval By The Governor And Are Contingent On The Ratification Of A Constitutional Amendment To Section 2, Article Xi, Of The South Carolina Constitution, Abolishing The State Board Of Education.
