Summary

A BILL TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 2-15-68 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT THE LEGISLATIVE AUDIT COUNCIL SHALL CONDUCT A MANAGEMENT PERFORMANCE AUDIT OF ONE-FIFTH OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICTS IN SOUTH CAROLINA SELECTED AT RANDOM BY THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION, TO PROVIDE THAT THE COST OF THE AUDIT MUST BE REIMBURSED BY THE SCHOOL DISTRICT, AND TO PROVIDE THAT THE COUNCIL MAY CONTRACT WITH AN INDEPENDENT FIRM AT THE EXPENSE OF THE DISTRICT.

Provide That The Legislative Audit Council Shall Conduct A Management Performance Audit Of One-fifth Of The School Districts In South Carolina Selected At Random By The State Department Of Education, To Provide That The Cost Of The Audit Must Be Reimbursed By The School District, And To Provide That The Council May Contract With An Independent Firm At The Expense Of The District.
