Summary

Amend The Code Of Laws Of South Carolina, 1976, So As To Enact The "uniform Antidiscrimination Act"; To Amend Section 1-13-20, Relating To The Policy Of The State Human Affairs Commission, So As To Expand The Definition Of "discrimination" To Include Discrimination Based On Gender Identity And Sexual Orientation; To Amend Section 1-13-80, As Amended, Relating To Unlawful Employment Practices, So As To Establish That It Is Unlawful For An Employer To Discriminate Against An Individual Because Of The Individual's Gender Identity And Sexual Orientation; To Amend Section 1-32-60, Relating To The Applicability And Construction Of The Religious Freedom Act, So As To Establish That The Religious Freedom Act Does Not Allow A Person To Discriminate Against An Individual Based On The Individual's Race, Religion, Color, Sex, Gender Identity And Sexual Orientation, Age, National Origin, Or Disability; To Amend Section 31-21-40, Relating To Fair Housing, So As To Make It Unlawful For A Person To Discriminate Against An Individual Based On Their Gender Identity And Sexual Orientation When Selling Or Renting Property; To Amend Section 31-21-50, Relating To Fair Housing, So As To Prohibit The Denial Of Access To, Or Membership Or Participation In, A Multiple-listing Service Or Similar Service Or Organization Based On The Person's Gender Identity And Sexual Orientation; To Amend Section 31-21-60, Relating To Fair Housing, So As To Prohibit Discrimination In Relation To Residential Real Estate-related Transactions Based On A Person's Gender Identity And Sexual Orientation; To Amend Section 44-69-80, Relating To Home Health Agencies, So As To Prohibit A Home Health Agency From Discriminating Against A Patient Or Potential Patient On The Basis Of Gender Identity And Sexual Orientation; To Amend Section 44-71-90, Relating To Hospice Programs, So As To Prohibit A Hospice Program From Discriminating Against A Patient Or Potential Patient On The Basis Of Gender Identity And Sexual Orientation; And To Amend Section 45-9-10, Relating To Hotels, Motels, Restaurants, And Boardinghouses, So As To Prohibit The Discrimination Against A Person Or Segregation From A Place Of Public Accommodation On The Basis Of Sex, Gender Identity, Or Sexual Orientation.
