A BILL TO AMEND SECTION 57-3-610, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE NAMING OF A HIGHWAY FACILITY IN HONOR OF AN INDIVIDUAL, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT UNLESS THE HIGHWAY FACILITY IS DEDICATED AND NAMED IN HONOR OF EITHER A SERVICEMAN OR LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER KILLED IN THE LINE OF DUTY, PUBLIC FUNDS MAY NOT BE USED TO REIMBURSE THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR THE EXPENSES IT INCURS TO NAME AND DEDICATE THE HIGHWAY FACILITY.

Provide That Unless The Highway Facility Is Dedicated And Named In Honor Of Either A Serviceman Or Law Enforcement Officer Killed In The Line Of Duty, Public Funds May Not Be Used To Reimburse The Department Of Transportation For The Expenses It Incurs To Name And Dedicate The Highway Facility.
