A RESOLUTION

1

Prohibiting the use of funds appropriated to the Senate to pay

2

or reimburse for costs associated with the use of automatic

3

dialing-announcing devices.

4

WHEREAS, The Senate finds that use of public funds to pay for

5

costs of robo-calls is inappropriate; therefore be it

6

RESOLVED, That notwithstanding any provisions of the

7

Financial Operating Rules or any policy adopted by the Committee

8

on Management Operations to the contrary, the use of funds

9

appropriated to the Senate to pay or reimburse for costs

10

associated with the use of automatic dialing-announcing devices

11

is prohibited. For purposes of this resolution, an automatic

12

dialing-announcing device is any device or equipment which,

13

working alone or in conjunction with other devices or equipment,

14

disseminates a prerecorded or synthesized voice message to the

15

telephone number called.
