INTRODUCED AND ADOPTED, OCTOBER 17, 2011
A RESOLUTION
Designating the month of October 2011 as "REALTORS® Reach Out
Month" in Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Association of REALTORS® and its 48
local associations are participating in REALTORS® Reach Out 2011
across this Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, This is the fourth year that REALTORS® will be
participating in this initiative; and
WHEREAS, From October 1 through October 31, REALTORS® will be
volunteering their time to benefit charitable organizations; and
WHEREAS, Pennsylvania REALTORS® volunteer throughout the
year, but the Pennsylvania Association of REALTORS® and its
members want to make a concerted effort to help out in
communities across this Commonwealth during October 2011; and
WHEREAS, In the past three years, more than 5,500 REALTORS®
across this Commonwealth participated with 27 local REALTORS®
associations and boards, donating more than $153,000 to

charitable organizations, along with nearly 37,600 pounds of
food and 1,000 pieces of clothing; and
WHEREAS, Members also have refurbished homes, cleaned up
local communities and held auctions and blood drives as part of
this initiative; and
WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Association of REALTORS® is a trade
and professional association that serves as the "voice for real
estate®" for its more than 30,000 members in this Commonwealth;
and
WHEREAS, A member of the National Association of REALTORS®,
the Pennsylvania Association of REALTORS® is comprised of
residential and commercial REALTORS® who subscribe to a strict
Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice; and
WHEREAS, The association enables its members to transact
business to the advantage and protection of the public and its
members and also promotes and maintains high standards of
conduct; and
WHEREAS, The members of the association are dedicated
professionals who advance community development and economic
growth, protect private property rights, work for economy and
efficiency in government and volunteer their time and talents to
a variety of charitable organizations in this Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, The association works with the Pennsylvania State
Real Estate Commission and the State Board of Certified Real
Estate Appraisers in the enforcement of regulations relating to
the profession; and
WHEREAS, Originally chartered in 1920, the association is one
of the largest trade associations in this Commonwealth;
therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate designate the month of October 2011
