A RESOLUTION

Honoring the achievements of the Wall Street Warfighters

2

Foundation and its commitment to disabled veterans.

3

WHEREAS, This nation and this Commonwealth ask much of their

4

military units and remain committed to improving and enriching

5

the lives of service members who have made great sacrifices for

6

this nation; and

7

WHEREAS, America owes a tremendous debt of gratitude to those

8

citizens who have borne the physical and mental injuries of

9

battle to preserve the freedoms we hold dear; and

10

WHEREAS, The Wall Street Warfighters Foundation was created

11

in October 2008 as a nonprofit corporation in partnership with

12

Drexel Hamilton in New York City and Philadelphia; and

13

WHEREAS, The Wall Street Warfighters Foundation provides a

14

financial industry career training program which is open to all

15

military veterans who have experienced physical or combat-

16

stress-related injuries while serving on active duty and who

qualify for Federal or State service-related disability

2

benefits; and

3

WHEREAS, The Wall Street Warfighters Foundation's Financial

4

and Trading Education Program prepares eligible students for

5

leadership positions in the financial services industry, and the

6

program provides rewarding career opportunities for disabled

7

veterans who have made great sacrifices; therefore be it

8

RESOLVED, That the Senate commend the Wall Street Warfighters

9

Foundation for its commitment to assisting disabled veterans;

10

and be it further

11

RESOLVED, That the Senate commend the partnership of Drexel

12

Hamilton; R.E. Harper Associates, LLC; the NASDAQ OMX Group; the

13

Chicago Board Options Exchange; Goldman Sachs; Base

14

Technologies, Inc. and NYSE Euronext for making this important

15

veterans program a successful endeavor; and be it further

16

RESOLVED, That the Senate welcome an esteemed group of the

17

Wall Street Warfighters Foundation representatives and program

18

participants on the floor of the Senate on April 29, 2009; and

19

be it further 

20

RESOLVED, That the Senate salute this organization for its

21

dedication to wounded veterans; and be it further

22

RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be transmitted to

23

the leadership of the Wall Street Warfighters Foundation as a

24

token of the Commonwealth's appreciation for its service to the

25

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and this nation.
