| AN ACT |
| |
1 | Amending the act of July 31, 2003 (P.L.73, No.17), entitled "An |
2 | act establishing a grant program for volunteer fire companies |
3 | and volunteer ambulance services; and providing for grant |
4 | funding," providing for an exemption from the Right-to-Know |
5 | Law. |
6 | The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania |
7 | hereby enacts as follows: |
8 | Section 1. The act of July 31, 2003 (P.L.73, No.17), known |
9 | as the Volunteer Fire Company and Volunteer Ambulance Service |
10 | Grant Act, is amended by adding a section to read: |
11 | Section 901.2. Right-to-Know Law. |
12 | (a) Nonapplicability.--Except as set forth in subsection |
13 | (b), none of the following are subject to the act of February |
14 | 14, 2008 (P.L.6, No.3), known as the Right-to-Know Law: |
15 | (1) A volunteer ambulance service. |
16 | (2) A volunteer fire company. |
17 | (3) A volunteer rescue company. |

1 | (4) A volunteer water rescue company. |
2 | (5) A volunteer organization that provides hazardous |
3 | materials response services. |
4 | (6) A volunteer organization that provides emergency |
5 | medical services. |
6 | (b) Applicability.-- |
7 | (1) An entity listed in subsection (a) is subject to the |
8 | Right-to-Know Law if the entity has a contract with a local |
9 | agency to provide services to the local agency. |
10 | (2) As used in this subsection, the term "local agency" |
11 | has the meaning given in section 102 of the Right-to-Know |
12 | Law. |
13 | Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days. |
