AN ACT
Amending Title 23 (Domestic Relations) of the Pennsylvania
Consolidated Statutes, further providing for relatives'
liability and procedure.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Section 4603(a)(2) of Title 23 of the
Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a
subparagraph to read:
§ 4603. Relatives' liability; procedure.
(a) Liability.--

(2) Paragraph (1) does not apply in any of the following
cases:

(iii) A child shall not be liable for the support of
a parent if the child has taken no overt action either to
voluntarily accept responsibility or to reasonably lead a
provider to believe that the child has voluntarily
accepted responsibility for the costs of care of the
parent.

Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
