A RESOLUTION

Expressing condolences and appreciation for the life of the

2

Honorable Mark E. Mascara of the Washington County Court of

3

Common Pleas, who passed away on June 11, 2010, at the age of

4

54.

5

WHEREAS, Judge Mascara was a graduate of Charleroi High

6

School and completed his undergraduate degree at Washington and

7

Jefferson College before attending Duquesne University School of

8

Law; and

9

WHEREAS, Judge Mascara practiced law for twenty-three years.

10

Fifteen of those years were as a staff attorney for the

11

Pennsylvania Board of Claims. He was sworn in as a common pleas

12

judge in January 2004; and

13

WHEREAS, Judge Mark E. Mascara was the ultimate family man

14

known for his children's advocacy work; and

WHEREAS, As a husband and father, Judge Mascara appreciated

2

the true meaning of family. That understanding helped with the

3

decisions he made as an administrative judge in Children and

4

Youth Social Services Agency cases; and

5

WHEREAS, Judge Mascara was a man of honor, integrity and

6

action. He was a leader, not just in Washington County but

7

across the State. Judge Mascara's unwavering commitment, vision

8

and leadership improved the lives of many Pennsylvanians; and

9

WHEREAS, Judge Mascara, son of former United States

10

Representative Frank Mascara, is survived by his wife, Lisa,

11

daughters, Kylie and Mariah, sons, Jameson and Samuel, parents

12

Frank and Delores, brothers, Jon and Frank and sister, Karen

13

Talbert; therefore be it

14

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives pay homage and

15

show appreciation for the life of the Honorable Mark E. Mascara

16

and extend its deepest sympathy to his family, friends and

17

associates on the passing of this truly remarkable

18

Pennsylvanian; and be it further

19

RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be transmitted to

20

Lisa Mascara, 3 Wilmont Avenue, Washington, PA  15301.
