A RESOLUTION
Honoring State Representative Scott Perry and State
Representative Nick Miccarelli for serving and protecting the
United States.
WHEREAS, The Honorable Scott Perry and the Honorable Nick
Miccarelli, members of the House of Representatives, have been
recalled to active duty with the Pennsylvania Army National
Guard; and
WHEREAS, Representative Scott Perry is a lieutenant colonel
and commander of the 2-104th General Support Aviation Battalion;
and
WHEREAS, Representative Perry enlisted in the Pennsylvania
Army National Guard in 1980; and
WHEREAS, Representative Perry attended basic training at Fort
Dix, New Jersey, and graduated advanced individual training at
Fort Belvoir, Virginia, as a technical drafting specialist; and
WHEREAS, Representative Perry assumed the command of the
2-104th General Support Aviation Battalion in February 2008; and
WHEREAS, Representative Perry's military awards and
decorations include the Master Army Aviator Badge, the
Meritorious Service Medal, the Joint Service Commendation Medal,
the Army Commendation Medal with bronze oak leaf cluster, the
Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal with silver oak leaf
cluster, the National Defense Service Medal with bronze service
star, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Armed Forces
Reserve Medal with silver hourglass and M device, the Army
Service Ribbon, the Army Reserve Components Overseas Training
Ribbon with 4 device, the NATO Medal, the PA 20 Year Medal, the
MG T.R. White Medal and the General T. J. Stewart Medal; and
WHEREAS, Representative Perry is deploying to serve as
battalion commander with the 2-104th General Support Aviation
Battalion; and
WHEREAS, Representative Nick Miccarelli is a United States
Army veteran and a current member of the Pennsylvania Army
National Guard; and
WHEREAS, Representative Miccarelli is deploying as a member
of the 28th Combat Aviation Brigade; and
WHEREAS, Representative Miccarelli has served in the United
States Army and the Pennsylvania Army National Guard since 1999;

and
WHEREAS, Representative Miccarelli's military awards and
decorations include the Army Achievement Medal, the Army
Commendation Medal and the Combat Infantrymen Badge; and
WHEREAS, Representatives Perry and Miccarelli join hundreds
of other Pennsylvanians currently on active duty in Iraq;
therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives recognize the
loyalty and patriotism of the Honorable Scott Perry and the
Honorable Nick Miccarelli upon their deployment overseas as
members of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard.
