AN ACT

Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated

Statutes, further providing, in liquid fuels and fuels tax,

3

for imposition of tax, exemptions and deductions.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

5

hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1.  Section 9004(d)(1) of Title 75 of the

7

Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:

§ 9004.  Imposition of tax, exemptions and deductions.

(d)  [Alternative] Diesel fuel and alternative fuels tax.--

11

(1)  A tax is hereby imposed upon diesel fuel and 

12

alternative fuels used to propel vehicles of any kind or

13

character on the public highways. The rate of tax applicable

14

to each diesel fuel and alternative fuel shall be computed by

15

the department on a gallon equivalent basis which shall be

16

reduced by 6ยข on a gallon and shall be published as necessary

17

by notice in the Pennsylvania Bulletin.

Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
