AN ACT

Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An

2

act relating to the public school system, including certain

3

provisions applicable as well to private and parochial

4

schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the

5

laws relating thereto," further providing for definitions.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

7

hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1.  The definition of "official visitor" in section

9

102 of the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), known as the

10

Public School Code of 1949, amended December 23, 2003 (P.L.304,

11

No.48), is amended to read:

Section 102.  Definitions.--When used in this act the

13

following words and phrases shall have the following meanings:

"Official visitor."  Includes the Governor, [Lieutenant

16

Governor,] members of the Senate and the House of

17

Representatives, the Secretary of Education and members of the

18

State Board of Education.

Section 2.  Upon the ratification of the amendment to the

2

Constitution of Pennsylvania abolishing the office of Lieutenant

3

Governor, the Secretary of the Commonwealth shall cause the date

4

of ratification to be published in the Pennsylvania Bulletin.

Section 3.  This act shall take effect as follows:

6

(1)  Section 2 of this act and this section shall take

7

effect immediately.

8

(2)  Section 1 of this act shall take effect upon

9

publication in the Pennsylvania Bulletin of the ratification

10

date of the amendment to the Constitution of Pennsylvania

11

that abolishes the office of Lieutenant Governor.
