AN ACT

  

1

Amending Titles 18 (Crimes and Offenses) and 65 (Public

2

Officers) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, 

3

providing for lobbying prohibition and for General Assembly

4

members; and further providing for prohibited activities.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

6

hereby enacts as follows:

7

Section 1.  Title 18 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated

8

Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:

9

§ 7515.1.  Lobbying prohibition.

10

No member of the General Assembly may be employed by or

11

affiliated with a lobbying firm, as defined in 65 Pa.C.S. §

12

13A03 (relating to definitions), during the duration of the

13

member's term of office in the General Assembly. A violation of

14

this section shall be a felony of the third degree and

15

enforceable by the Attorney General.

Section 2.  Section 13A07 of Title 65 is amended by adding a

17

subsection to read:

§ 13A07.  Prohibited activities.

(g)  A lobbyist, principal or lobbying firm shall not employ

3

or be affiliated with a member of the General Assembly.

Section 3.  Title 65 is amended by adding a section to read:

5

§ 13A07.1.  General Assembly members.

6

No lobbyist, principal or lobbying firm may employ or be

7

affiliated with a member of the General Assembly.

8

Section 4.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
