AN ACT

  

1

Amending Title 53 (Municipalities Generally) of the Pennsylvania

2

Consolidated Statutes, imposing a residential rate schedule

3

of water services being supplied to certain organizations.

4

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

5

hereby enacts as follows:

6

Section 1.  Title 53 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated

7

Statutes is amended by adding a chapter to read:

CHAPTER 61

MUNICIPAL WATER AND WASTEWATER SERVICES

10

Sec.

11

6101.  Municipal water and wastewater services supplied to

12

certain organizations.

§ 6101.  Municipal water and wastewater services supplied to

14

certain organizations.

Any municipal water and wastewater company supplying water

16

and wastewater services, shall, upon application, permit a

 


1

volunteer fire company, a nonprofit rescue squad or ambulance

2

service or a nonprofit senior citizen center to elect to have

3

its water services rendered pursuant to a rate schedule which

4

provides equivalent charges for such service as residential

5

rates upon execution of a contract for a minimum term of one

6

year.

7

Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
