AN ACT

Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the

2

Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, further providing for

3

other offenses.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

5

hereby enacts as follows:

6

Section 1.  Section 5552(c) introductory paragraph of Title

7

42 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes is amended and the

8

section is amended by adding a subsection to read:

§ 5552.  Other offenses.

10

(b.2)  Election Code offenses.--A prosecution for any offense

12

under Article XVIII of the act of June 3, 1937 (P.L.1333,

13

No.320), known as the Pennsylvania Election Code, must be

14

commenced within four years after it is committed.

15

(c)  Exceptions.--If the period prescribed in subsection (a),

16

(b) [or], (b.1) or (b.2) has expired, a prosecution may

17

nevertheless be commenced for:

Section 2.  The addition or amendment of 42 Pa.C.S. §

3

5552(b.2) and (c) introductory paragraph shall apply to offenses

4

committed under Article XVIII of the act of June 3, 1937

5

(P.L.1333, No.320), known as the Pennsylvania Election Code, on

6

or after the effective date of this section.

7

Section 3.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
