AN ACT

Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania

Consolidated Statutes, further providing for the offense of

false reports to law enforcement authorities.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

5

hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1.  Section 4906 of Title 18 of the Pennsylvania

7

Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a subsection to read:

8

§ 4906.  False reports to law enforcement authorities.

(d)  Definitions.--As used in this section, the following

11

words and phrases shall have the meanings given to them in this

12

subsection:

"Law enforcement authorities."  The term includes, but is not

14

limited to, persons who are employed to provide child protective

15

services as defined under 23 Pa.C.S. § 6303(a) (relating to

16

definitions) while acting within the scope of their employment.

"Other incident."  The term includes, but is not limited to,

child abuse as defined under 23 Pa.C.S. § 6303(b) (relating to

2

definitions).

Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
