| AN ACT |

1 | Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania |
2 | Consolidated Statutes, further providing for the offense of |
3 | false reports to law enforcement authorities. |
4 | The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania |
5 | hereby enacts as follows: |
6 | Section 1. Section 4906 of Title 18 of the Pennsylvania |
7 | Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a subsection to read: |
8 | § 4906. False reports to law enforcement authorities. |

10 | (d) Definitions.--As used in this section, the following |
11 | words and phrases shall have the meanings given to them in this |
12 | subsection: |
13 | "Law enforcement authorities." The term includes, but is not |
14 | limited to, persons who are employed to provide child protective |
15 | services as defined under 23 Pa.C.S. § 6303(a) (relating to |
16 | definitions) while acting within the scope of their employment. |
17 | "Other incident." The term includes, but is not limited to, |

1 | child abuse as defined under 23 Pa.C.S. § 6303(b) (relating to |
2 | definitions). |
3 | Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days. |
