                             SUMMARY

brief statement of the essential features of the measure as
introduced.

  Allows forest protective association to obtain hearing by State
Board of Forestry regarding actions of board or State Forester
that may adversely affect adequacy of fire prevention and
suppression services within forest protection district.

                        A BILL FOR AN ACT
Relating to forest protection district services.
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
  SECTION 1.  { + Section 2 of this 2011 Act is added to and made
a part of ORS 477.205 to 477.281. + }
  SECTION 2.  { + A forest protective association may file a
request for hearing with the State Board of Forestry if the
association maintains that an action taken by the board or the
State Forester may adversely affect the adequacy of fire
prevention and suppression services within a forest protection
district served by the association. The subject of a hearing
requested under this section must be limited to actions that the
board or State Forester take after budget approval under ORS
477.265 that may affect the adequacy of services during the
budget period. For purposes of a hearing requested under this
section, the association shall be considered to represent the
interests of the owners of grazing land or timberland within the
district. If an association requests a hearing under this
section, the hearing must be held no later than 30 days after
delivery of the request.  A hearing under this section shall be
conducted as a contested case hearing under ORS chapter 183. + }
