  Requires court to postpone and continue hearing or trial upon
request of all parties to certain domestic relations proceedings.

                        A BILL FOR AN ACT
Relating to postponement of domestic relations proceedings.
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
  SECTION 1.  { + Section 2 of this 2011 Act is added to and made
a part of ORS 107.093 to 107.425. + }
  SECTION 2.  { + (1) In any proceeding under ORS chapter 107 for
marital annulment, dissolution or separation, the court shall
postpone and continue the date of a hearing or trial upon written
request of all parties to the proceeding unless the court finds
by clear and convincing evidence that injustice to the parties
would result by the postponement and continuation.
  (2) The request under this section must be made not less than
10 days before the date of hearing or trial. + }
  SECTION 3.  { + Section 4 of this 2011 Act is added to and made
a part of ORS chapter 109. + }
  SECTION 4.  { + (1) In any proceeding under ORS chapter 109,
the court shall postpone and continue the date of a hearing or
trial upon written request of all parties to the proceeding
unless the court finds by clear and convincing evidence that
injustice to the parties would result by the postponement and
continuation.
  (2) The request under this section must be made not less than
10 days before the date of hearing or trial. + }
  SECTION 5.  { + Section 6 of this 2011 Act is added to and made
a part of ORS 106.300 to 106.340. + }
  SECTION 6.  { + (1) In any proceeding under ORS 106.300 to
106.340 for dissolution of a registered domestic partnership, the
court shall postpone and continue the date of a hearing or trial
upon written request of all parties to the proceeding unless the
court finds by clear and convincing evidence that injustice to
the parties would result by the postponement and continuation.
  (2) The request under this section must be made not less than
10 days before the date of hearing or trial. + }

  SECTION 7.  { + (1) In any civil action involving the
dissolution of a relationship between parties who are not
domestic partners registered under ORS 106.300 to 106.340 for
support of a party or division of property of the parties, the
court shall postpone and continue the date of a hearing or trial
upon written request of all parties to the proceeding unless the
court finds by clear and convincing evidence that injustice to
the parties would result by the postponement and continuation.
  (2) The request under this section must be made not less than
10 days before the date of hearing or trial. + }
