  Directs Oregon Health Authority to adopt rules requiring
physician or midwife to inform mother or father after birth of
child about benefits of using pulse oximetry to screen infants
for congenital heart disease.

                        A BILL FOR AN ACT
Relating to newborn screenings.
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
  SECTION 1.  { + The Oregon Health Authority shall adopt rules
requiring physicians licensed under ORS chapter 677 and midwives
who are attending a mother at the birth of a child to inform the
mother or father as soon as practicable after the birth of the
child about the benefits of using pulse oximetry to screen
infants for congenital heart disease. + }
