It is an editor's brief statement of the essential features of the measure as introduced. Requires state agency to notify State Department of Fish and Wildlife before state agency restricts or closes access to state lands used for hunting. Provides exceptions. Requires department to post notice for 30 days on department's website before state agency may restrict or close access to state lands used for hunting. A BILL FOR AN ACT Relating to hunting. Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon: SECTION 1. { + (1) Before a state agency restricts or closes access to state lands that are used for hunting, the state agency shall notify the State Department of Fish and Wildlife of the plans to restrict or close access to the lands. (2) In order to give hunters notice that a state agency plans to restrict or close access to state lands that are used for hunting and before the state agency may restrict or close access to the lands, the department shall post notice on the department's website for 30 days after it receives notification under subsection (1) of this section. (3) Subsections (1) and (2) of this section do not apply to restrictions or closures for: (a) Fire prevention pursuant to the provisions of ORS 477.535 to 477.550. (b) States of emergencies declared pursuant to the provisions of ORS 401.165 to 401.236. (c) Emergencies other than those specified in paragraph (b) of this subsection. + } ----------
