Summary
The Act makes each county in charge of public defense within the county. The Act takes effect on the 91st day after sine die. (Flesch Readability Score: 81.8). Directs the governing body of each county to coordinate the provision of public defense services within the county. Modifies the duties of the Oregon Public Defense Commission. Directs the commission to develop policies, standards and procedures for the provision of public defense in coordination with the governing body of each county. Directs the commission to assist the counties in providing public defense services and to provide funds to counties on a proportionate basis for public defense. Takes effect on the 91st day following adjournment sine die.
