Summary

Directs State Fire Marshal to develop and administer program to evaluate condition of buildings after emergency and determine whether buildings may be safely occupied. Directs Office of Emergency Management to study and make recommendations regarding possible improvements to operations of office. Requires office to submit report on findings by January 1, 2021.] Directs State Fire Marshal to implement statewide system for registration of and communication with local program coordinators, certified building evaluators and approved trainers. Authorizes local governments to enact programs under which building owners may, prior to emergency, enter into agreements with professionals to conduct building inspections following emergency. Provides that certified building evaluators are qualified emergency service volunteers for purposes of related statutes.
