A RESOLUTION
Honoring Kenzie Conrad as the 2012 MaxPreps National Softball Player of the Year.

       WHEREAS,  The members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to Kenzie Conrad on being selected to the 2012 MaxPreps All-America first team in softball as its National Player of the Year; and

       WHEREAS,  A diligent and capable individual, Kenzie Conrad is deserving of recognition for her exemplary accomplishments as a member of the Keystone High School softball team. An exceptional athlete, she helped lead the Wildcats to the Division II State Championship, a number one ranking in two national polls, and a perfect 32-0 record, and among her accolades, she received Lorain County Miss Softball, All-Ohio first-team, National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America first-team, and Gatorade Ohio Softball Player of the Year honors. Her noteworthy record of personal achievement stands as a hallmark for others to emulate; and

       WHEREAS,  Through her participation in softball, Kenzie Conrad has learned important lessons of discipline, perseverance, hard work, and good sportsmanship that will undoubtedly be of great benefit to her throughout her life. Throughout intense training and preparation, she has consistently demonstrated the talent, integrity, and motivation that are the hallmarks of a true champion; and

       WHEREAS,  In a society that seeks to teach the future leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards of individual and group effort, athletic competition has become a valuable educational tool. Kenzie Conrad has inspired her teammates, thrilled her fans, gained the respect of her opponents, and made her coaches and family very proud; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate Kenzie Conrad on her athletic success and salute her as one of Ohio's finest citizens; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Kenzie Conrad.
