| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Taylor Vernot as the 2013 Division II State Girls Cross Country Champion; and |
| WHEREAS, This accomplishment is truly noteworthy, for Taylor Vernot has clearly demonstrated her talent and perseverance, as well as her mental and physical fortitude as a long distance runner. As this year's Division II State Champion with a time of 18:04.4, she has exemplified all of the characteristics that are essential for success both in and out of the sports world, including courage, determination, and an innate sense of the principles of good sportsmanship; and |
| WHEREAS, In displaying such exceptional prowess as a junior member of the Wauseon High School cross country team under Coach Joe Allen, Taylor Vernot has earned the appreciation of her fellow athletes, the devotion of countless fans, and the respect of even her most determined rivals. Competition in athletics has enabled her to learn much about dedication and self-discipline, and we take this opportunity to acknowledge her exceptional record of achievement; and |
| WHEREAS, Long distance running is an event that requires exceptional stamina and natural ability, and Taylor Vernot is to be commended for her commitment to this demanding activity. In attaining her athletic goals, she has consistently exhibited the skill and integrity that are the hallmarks of a true champion; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate Taylor Vernot on securing this year's Division II State Girls Cross Country Championship crown and extend best wishes for continued success; and be it further |
