| Honoring Andrea Cottrell as a 2012 Division II State Swimming Champion. |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Andrea Cottrell on winning the 100-yard breaststroke event at the 2012 Division II State Swimming and Diving Championships; and |
| WHEREAS, A junior at Bishop Hartley High School, Andrea Cottrell has combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish herself as a truly exceptional young athlete. With admirable dedication, she has worked diligently to attain ultimate proficiency in swimming, and as a result, she won the 100-yard breaststroke event with a time of 1:30.32 and placed third in the 200-yard individual medley at this year's Division II State Swimming and Diving Championships; and |
| WHEREAS, Andrea Cottrell's accomplishments and leadership, both in and out of athletic competition, are a justifiable source of pride and an excellent reflection not only on her but also on her family, her teammates, her coaches, her school, and her community. Her unwavering commitment to excellence has earned her the respect and esteem of many, and she is certainly worthy of high praise; and |
| WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role in the total education of our young people, we are extremely pleased to pay tribute to Andrea Cottrell on an exemplary season. Indeed, the same maturity and experience that she has gained through her participation in sports will greatly aid her in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Andrea Cottrell for outstanding achievement and extend best wishes for ongoing success; and be it further |
