A RESOLUTION
Honoring Aaron Craft as a Capital One 2012 Academic All-American and the 2012 All-Big Ten Conference Defensive Player of the Year.

       WHEREAS,  The members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Aaron Craft on being named to the 2012 Academic All-American first team by Capital One and being selected as the 2012 All-Big Ten Conference Defensive Player of the Year; and

       WHEREAS,  A sophomore at The Ohio State University, Aaron Craft has combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest academic standards to establish himself as a truly exceptional student athlete. With admirable dedication, he has worked diligently toward attaining ultimate proficiency in basketball, and as a result, he has averaged 8.3 points, 4.6 assists and 2.3 steals per game so far this season while maintaining a 3.89 grade point average as an exercise science and pre-med major; and

       WHEREAS,  Aaron Craft's accomplishments and leadership, both in athletic competition and in the classroom, are a justifiable source of pride and a fine reflection not only on him but also on his family, his teammates, his coaches and instructors, his school, and his community. His unwavering commitment to excellence has earned him the respect and admiration of many, and he is certainly worthy of high praise; and

       WHEREAS,  With athletic competition playing such an important role in the total education of our young people, we are extremely pleased to pay tribute to Aaron Craft on an exemplary season. Indeed, the same maturity and experience he has gained through his participation in basketball will greatly aid him in meeting the challenges of the years to come; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Aaron Craft on his personal success and extend best wishes for the future; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Aaron Craft.
