| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Cassie Schumacher on placing first in the women under the age of 50 division of the 2013 Race Across America; and |
| WHEREAS, A remarkable individual, Cassie Schumacher has combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish herself as a truly outstanding athlete. With admirable dedication, she has worked diligently toward attaining ultimate proficiency in cycling, and as a result, she placed first in the women under the age of 50 division at this year's Race Across America. Her unwavering commitment to excellence has earned her the esteem of many, and she is certainly deserving of high praise; and |
| WHEREAS, A substance abuse counselor and a supporter of such organizations as Wheels 4 Change and Warriors' Journey Home, Cassie Schumacher has gained the appreciation of her fellow athletes, the devotion of countless fans, and the respect of even her most determined rivals. Competition in events such as this have enabled her to learn much about courage and self-discipline, and we take this opportunity to acknowledge her exemplary record of achievement; and |
| WHEREAS, Long distance cycling is an activity that requires exceptional stamina and natural ability, and Cassie Schumacher is to be commended for her commitment to this demanding sport. In achieving her athletic goals, she has consistently exhibited the skill and integrity that are the hallmarks of a true champion; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud Cassie Schumacher as a 2013 Race Across America Champion and extend best wishes for continued success; and be it further |
