BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF OHIO
(THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING):
| WHEREAS, Beginning with the Wright brothers in 1903, Ohio and | 3 |
| the aviation industry have shared a powerful history and | 4 |
| unparalleled connection; and | 5 |
| WHEREAS, Ohioans from across the state have participated in | 6 |
| all aspects of aviation, from the dream of flight to commercial | 7 |
| air travel, including military and space missions, as well as the | 8 |
| manufacture of aircraft and engines, and aviation maintenance; and | 9 |
| WHEREAS, Aviation is essential to Ohio's economy, supporting | 10 |
| countless individuals, including engineers, mechanics, pilots, | 11 |
| technicians, maintenance crews, and related occupations, and so | 12 |
| sustaining and improving communities throughout Ohio; therefore be | 13 |
| it | 14 |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the 129th General Assembly | 15 |
| of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, designate May 2011 as | 16 |
| Aviation Awareness Month in Ohio and encourage all citizens to | 17 |
| learn about the role of aviation in Ohio's past, to appreciate | 18 |
| aviation as an economic asset in Ohio's present, and to champion | 19 |
| aviation as a key to Ohio's future; and be it further | 20 |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit duly | 21 |
| authenticated copies of this Resolution to the news media of Ohio. | 22 |
