To designate April as "Ohio Month of the Military Child." |
WHEREAS, In 1986, Defense Secretary Casper Weinberger designated April as Month of the Military Child; and |
WHEREAS, Each April, Americans pause to recognize the nation's 1.8 million military children; and |
WHEREAS, More than 900,000 military children have had a parent deploy in over a decade of war; and |
WHEREAS, Frequent moves, family separations through deployments, and reintegration issues make life especially challenging for the military child; and |
WHEREAS, It is important to recognize that military children also serve, and to let military children know how proud we are as Americans that they are supporting a parent in uniform who is making sacrifices for our country; now therefore be it |
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, recognizing the unique sacrifices made by military children, designate the month of April as Ohio Month of the Military Child, and encourage all citizens of the state, and all the state and local agencies, and all schools, to recognize and show gratitude to military children; and be it further |
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit duly authenticated copies of this Resolution to the news media of Ohio. |
