A RESOLUTION

Honoring the City of Gahanna on its Distinguished Budget Presentation Award.

       WHEREAS,  The members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to the City of Gahanna on being accorded a Distinguished Budget Presentation Award by the Governmental Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada; and

       WHEREAS,  It is not surprising that the City of Gahanna has been presented with this special distinction for preparing a 2014 budget document that meets twenty-five criteria set by the Governmental Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada. Since its inception, Gahanna has experienced dramatic growth and change, and yet, commendably, even as its residents have exuberantly embraced the promise of a bright future, they have never relinquished their appreciation for the worthiest virtues of the past; and 

       WHEREAS,  The City of Gahanna has certainly proven itself to be fiscally responsible, and through its unfaltering commitment, it has earned the respect and appreciation of many. We are proud to note that it is through the efforts of such exceptional public employees as all those associated with the city that the State of Ohio continues to prosper; and

       WHEREAS,  Every state depends upon such vibrant, durable communities as Gahanna for its own survival and stability. Under the guidance of its mayor, Becky Stinchcomb, and its finance director, Jennifer Teal, the city is sure to remain on its admirable course; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate the City of Gahanna for outstanding achievement and salute it as one of Ohio's finest communities; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the City of Gahanna.
