A RESOLUTION

Honoring Brother Nick Renner on receiving the 2013 Archbishop O'Hara Advocacy Award for Rural Ministry.

       WHEREAS,  The members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Brother Nick Renner on being presented with the Archbishop O'Hara Advocacy Award for Rural Ministry from the National Catholic Rural Life Conference, October 13, 2013; and

       WHEREAS,  This prestigious honor is a fitting tribute to Nick Renner as an advocate for rural communities and social justice. A member of the ministerial staff at Immaculate Conception Parish, he managed the farm at St. Charles Center for several years, pioneering farming methods that protect the environment, and he has been active with the Mercer County Soil and Water Conservation District and Ag Solutions; and 

       WHEREAS,  Nick Renner is truly a remarkable individual, for he has combined civic concern and commitment with selfless initiative to become a dynamic leader in the community. Through his efforts, he has distinguished himself as a conscientious and hard-working Ohioan, and we are certain that he will continue to display the same unwavering dedication to service and achievement for which he has become known; and

       WHEREAS,  Willingly giving of his time, energy, and abilities far beyond what was required or expected, Nick Renner has striven to better the world around him. Through his generous contributions, he has earned the respect and esteem of all who know him, and he is deserving of high praise. We are proud to note that it is through the unceasing efforts of people such as he that Ohio continues to prosper and remains a pleasant place in which to live; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Brother Nick Renner on his national accolade and salute him as one of Ohio's finest citizens; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Brother Nick Renner.
