A RESOLUTION
Honoring Richland County on the Two Hundredth Anniversary of its founding.

       WHEREAS,  The members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Richland County on its Two Hundredth Anniversary; and

       WHEREAS,  Over the past two centuries, Richland County has become known for its residents' cooperation, integrity, and willingness to work hard, exemplary qualities that are still manifested by its citizens today. Since its establishment in 1813, the county has enjoyed the benefits of a generous and civic-minded population, and those who currently make the area their home take great pride in its rich heritage. Their efforts have certainly made the community a pleasant and friendly place in which to live and work; and 

       WHEREAS,  Every state depends upon such vibrant, durable communities as Richland County for its own survival and stability. Two centuries after it was founded, the county still radiates vitality, optimism, and a charm all its own. Richland County is a place of many engaging qualities, and its cities, Mansfield, Shelby, and Ontario, its villages, Bellville, Butler, Lexington, Plymouth, Shiloh, and Lucas, its schools, its businesses and industries, and its civic organizations both embody and thrive upon the values of which our flag is an emblem; and

       WHEREAS,  America is only as strong as her individual communities, which are unique and which make a significant contribution to the culture of our state and nation. The Bicentennial of Richland County offers its citizens the opportunity to share their memories and experiences and to reflect on the benefits of life in their close-knit communities, for they have built on the best traditions of the past to ensure a future filled with hope and promise; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate Richland County on its Two Hundredth Anniversary and extend best wishes for peace and prosperity in the years to come; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Richland County.
