BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That section 5902.10 of the Revised Code be | 7 |
enacted to read as follows: | 8 |
Sec. 5902.10. The director of veterans services shall notify | 9 |
the governor whenever the director becomes aware that a person who | 10 |
is an Ohio resident and who is a member of the armed forces of the | 11 |
United States or the national guard has been killed by hostile | 12 |
fire. Upon receipt of such a notice, the governor shall order that | 13 |
all state agencies and political subdivisions of this state fly at | 14 |
half-staff on the day of that person's funeral the United States | 15 |
flag, the flag of this state, and any relevant military flag, if | 16 |
the state agency or political subdivision possesses such a flag. | 17 |
