STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 8395 IN SENATE January 26, 2024 ___________ Introduced by Sen. BROUK -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Health AN ACT to amend the public health law, in relation to directing the commissioner of health to issue a statewide standing order for the provision of doula services The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. The public health law is amended by adding a new section 2 206-c to read as follows: 3 § 206-c. Special powers to issue standing orders for doula services. 4 Notwithstanding section sixty-five hundred thirty of the education law, 5 the commissioner shall issue a non-patient specific statewide standing 6 order for the provision of doula services for pregnant, birthing, and 7 postpartum individuals through twelve months postpartum. 8 § 2.
