        Introduced  by  Sen.  CROCI  -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Local Government
        AN ACT to authorize Lord-N-Fields Voice of Freedom Bible Church Communi-
          ty Workers International Inc. to file  an  application  for  exemption
          from real property taxes for the parcel of land located at 120 Beaver-
          dam Road, in the town of Brookhaven, county of Suffolk
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary,
     2  the assessor of the town of Brookhaven is hereby  authorized  to  accept
     3  from  Lord-N-Fields  Voice  of  Freedom  Bible  Church Community Workers
     4  International Inc., d/b/a Voice of Freedom  Community  Bible  Church,  a
     5  not-for-profit  organization,  an  application  for  exemption from real
     6  property taxes pursuant to section 420-a of the real  property  tax  law
     7  for  the  2013-2014,  2014-2015  and 2015-2016 assessment rolls, for the
     8  parcel owned by such organization located in the town of  Brookhaven  at
     9  120  Beaverdam  Road,  otherwise  known as district 0200, section 976.1,
    10  block 3, lot 4. If accepted, the application shall be reviewed as if  it
    11  had  been  received on or before the taxable status date established for
    12  such rolls.
    13    If satisfied that such not-for-profit corporation would  otherwise  be
    14  entitled  to such exemption if the organization had filed an application
    15  for such exemption by the appropriate taxable status date, the  assessor
    16  of  the  town of Brookhaven upon approval by the town of Brookhaven town
    17  board may grant exemption from taxation  with  respect  to  the  subject
    18  rolls  and  make  appropriate  correction  to  the subject rolls. If the
    19  exemption is granted and such not-for-profit corporation shall have paid
    20  any tax with regard to the subject rolls, the town  of  Brookhaven  town
    21  board may, in its sole discretion, provide for the refund of those taxes
    22  paid  and  cancel  taxes,  fines, penalties, liens or interest remaining
    23  unpaid.
    24    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
