O'MARA -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Local Government AN ACT in relation to authorizing certain individuals to take the competitive civil service examination and be placed on the eligible list for appointment as a part-time police officer for the town of Elmira, county of Chemung THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: 1 Section 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of section 58 of the civil 2 service law, or any other law to the contrary, Cory Ripley and Patrick 3 Dotts, who have been continuously employed by the town of Elmira, county 4 of Chemung, as part-time patrolmen, shall be eligible to take the 5 competitive civil service examination for the position of police officer 6 and shall, contingent upon each individual score on such examination, be 7 individually eligible to be placed on the eligible list for appointment 8 as a part-time patrolman for the town of Elmira. 9 S 2. Corey Ripley and Patrick Dotts shall otherwise be subject to the 10 merit and fitness provisions of the civil service law applicable to 11 part-time police officers. 12 S 3.
