        Introduced  by  Sen. HOYLMAN -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Finance
        AN ACT to amend the executive law, in relation to  increasing  the  fees
          certain notaries public shall be entitled to
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section 1. Section 136 of the executive law, as amended by chapter 143
     2  of the laws of 1991, is amended to read as follows:
     3    § 136. Notarial fees. A notary public shall be entitled to the follow-
     4  ing fees:
     5    1. For administering an oath or affirmation, and certifying  the  same
     6  when  required,  except  where another fee is specifically prescribed by
     7  statute, [two] five dollars.
     8    2. For taking and certifying the acknowledgment or proof of  execution
     9  of  a written instrument, by one person, [two] five dollars, and by each
    10  additional person, [two] five dollars, for swearing each witness  there-
    11  to, [two] five dollars.
    12    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
