STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 6535 IN SENATE January 22, 2016 ___________ Introduced by Sen. AVELLA -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Higher Education AN ACT authorizing and directing the boards of trustees of SUNY and CUNY to review and revise the report of the New York State Governor's Task Force on Campus Fire Safety issued in July 2000 The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. The board of trustees of the state university of New York 2 and the board of trustees of the city university of New York are author- 3 ized and directed to review and revise the report of the New York State 4 Governor's Task Force on Campus Fire Safety issued in July 2000 pursuant 5 to executive order number 103, dated February 14, 2000. Specifically, 6 the board of trustees of the state university of New York and the board 7 of trustees of the city university of New York shall update sections 8 pertaining to the extent and adequacy of fire suppression and detection 9 systems within the state and city university systems. 10 § 2. On or before December 1, 2016, the director of the board of trus- 11 tees of the state university of New York and the board of trustees of 12 the city university of New York shall deliver a copy of the revised 13 report and the findings of the review conducted pursuant to section one 14 of this act and any legislative recommendations they deem to be neces- 15 sary to the governor, the temporary president of the senate, and the 16 speaker of the assembly. 17 § 3.
